My personal training career began in 2008 when I attended the National Personal Training Institute where I received my first training certification. Since then I have gone on to complete my BA in Exercise Physiology and Health Promotion from Otterbein University as well as pursuing other fitness and sports certifications/education through USA Weightlifting and the American College of Sports Medicine.

I was training at a large fitness facility for a few years and started to realize the large gym environment wasn’t for everyone.  After getting feedback from clients I decided to set out on my own in 2012 and work with people in their own homes and at small studios.  In 2014 I joined with my wife to form Willow Health and Performance, together we offer a wider range of health, diet and fitness expertise.

From 2014-2018 I returned to Otterbein as adjunct professor to teach Strength and Conditioning and Olympic Style Weightlifting. These additional years in an academic setting gave me the opportunity to refine my knowledge and to stay current on new developments in exercise science. I stay active working out, hiking, kayaking and training/competing in Brazilian jiu jitsu with Endeavor BJJ.

My career in the health and fitness industry began when I attended the National Personal Training Institute and worked as a personal trainer for 8+ years. Because of my mixed passion for fitness and nutrition, I attended the Ohio State University to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics graduating magna cum laude.
After graduating from Ohio State I went on to complete my dietetic internship through Iowa State University and earn the credential of Registered Dietitian. I then became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Certified LEAP Therapist for food sensitivities. I have also completed a Master’s Degree in Dietetics through North Dakota
State University.

I have had the opportunity to work with clients of all different types, including collegiate athletes, high school and middle school athletes, weekend warriors, those trying to lose or gain weight, those trying to enhance performance, those recovering from an eating disorder, and those working through injury. I have had the pleasure to present my knowledge and experience to groups including college students, adult sports clubs, and the recreationally active. I am passionate about helping people reach their athletic, fitness, and health goals in order to gain confidence in themselves to be able to pursue their dreams and the things they want to achieve in life. I enjoy working with anyone interested in bettering their health and willing to put in hard work to reach their goals. I specialize in sports nutrition and eating disorder recovery. I strive to continually learn and better my practice in order to bring the best advice possible to my clients.

In addition to my role as dietitian with Willow Health and Performance I also personal train clients of all types in Dublin. I have a passion for fitness and take every advantage I can to get outside. I enjoy kayaking, hiking, traveling, and gardening in my free time.
